Audience Research

To gather my audience research I created a questionnaire that I asked 20 people ranging from 17-21 years old, I questioned this age range because my target audience is based around these ages therefore I wanted to get their personal opinion on what they thought.

I purposely questioned 17 to 21 year olds because my target audience will be based around this age group.

35% percent of the people I asked usually watch FOX TV this shows that genre's such as supernatural/comedy is popular among this age group as FOX TV features shows like True Blood, New Girl and Gotham. No one on my questionnaire chose TV channels like BBC1 and Channel 4 as these channels include shows like EastEnders and The Jump. Shows like this aren't very popular with my target audience.

40% of the people that I questioned said that they preferred Fantasy/Supernatural genre TV shows, while 0% of the people I asked didn't chose Documentary style TV shows this indicates that fantasy is more popular among my target audience.

25% people chose Game of Thrones out of the questionnaire and 20% said they liked The Walking Dead the best this shows me the kind of shows that my age group like and what would be best to include in my TV channel.

In this questionnaire it shows that 40% of my target audience watch 1-2 hours of TV a day and 25% watch 2-3 hours a day, so the peak time of my channel will be about 19:00 till 22:00 when I will add the most in demand shows on around this time.

For my Radioactive channel I asked my target audience what house style they would expect, 50% of them said they would prefer green and black as fantasy goes with these colours more accordingly than the other available colours. Green and black represent mystery and a dark side that will pair up with my channel nicely.
